إِن تَجْتَنِبُوا۟ كَبَآئِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنكُمْ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُم مُّدْخَلًۭا كَرِيمًۭا
'In taj'tanibū kabā'ira mā tun'haw'na ʻan'hu nukaffir' ʻankum' sayyi'ātikum' wanud'khil'kum mmud'khalan karīman
If ye (but) eschew the most heinous of the things which ye are forbidden to do, We shall expel out of you all the evil in you, and admit you to a gate of great honour.

If you avoid the major sins you are forbidden, Allah will wipe away your smaller misdeeds and admit you through a noble entrance.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens to small spots when you wash a cloth?"
Start Ummah Muslim's video of a recitation of ayah 31. When it ends, share one word that links to 'Avoid the Major Sins'.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah promise?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does avoiding big sins wipe small ones?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nisa' is surah 4. Find ayah 31. Avoiding major sins shows true effort. Allah generously wipes away smaller slips. Prayer, wudu and good deeds also wash away small sins.
Fact: The Prophet taught that the five prayers wipe away small sins between them (Muslim).
Ages 5–8: Clean slate. Wash a slate clean and talk about forgiveness.
Ages 9–12: Major sins. Write why avoiding major sins matters.
Finish with: "The five prayers wipe away ___ sins."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will pray on time to keep my heart clean."
Action: Pray on time to keep your heart clean.
