قُلْ أَفَغَيْرَ ٱللَّهِ تَأْمُرُوٓنِّىٓ أَعْبُدُ أَيُّهَا ٱلْجَٰهِلُونَ
Qul' 'afaghay'ra -llahi ta''murūnnī 'aʻ'budu 'ayyuhā l-jāhilūna
Say: "Is it some one other than Allah that ye order me to worship, O ye ignorant ones?"

Say: Do you order me to worship someone other than Allah, you who do not know?
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who made everything you can see?"
Watch the Taqwa kids TV video Allah Made Everything.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were the people asking the Prophet to do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why could the Prophet never agree?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zumar is surah 39. Find ayah 64. The key word jahilun means people who do not know. Some people asked the Prophet to worship their idols too. He answered firmly but calmly: would you have me worship other than Allah? Some things we never agree to, no matter who asks.
Fact: Which short surah begins? Say, O disbelievers, I do not worship what you worship?
Ages 5–8: Firm and kind. Practise saying no firmly but kindly to something wrong.
Ages 9–12: Never compromise. Write three things a Muslim never agrees to, even under pressure.
Finish with: "I found that the surah is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will say no kindly to one thing I know is wrong."
Action: Say no kindly to one thing you know is wrong.
