Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How does this du'a describe Allah?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do we praise Allah before asking Him?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zumar is surah 39. Find ayah 46. The key word fatir means Originator, the One who started creation from nothing. This ayah teaches a beautiful way to call on Allah: first praise Him as Creator and Knower of everything, then leave every disagreement for Him to judge. It is a du'a we can use too.

Fact: Which surah is named Fatir, the Originator, and what number is it?

Ages 5–8: Du'a steps. Practise a du'a in three steps: praise Allah, ask Him, thank Him.

Ages 9–12: My du'a. Write your own du'a that starts by describing Allah with this ayah's names.

Finish with: "I found that Fatir is surah ___."

Talk together:

• Why do we praise Allah before asking?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What does Knower of the hidden and the seen mean to you?
• What disagreement would you leave to Allah?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will begin my du'as by praising Allah."
