لِيُكَفِّرَ ٱللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ أَسْوَأَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِيَهُمْ أَجْرَهُم بِأَحْسَنِ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
Liyukaffira -llahu ʻan'hum' 'as'wa'a -lladhī ʻamilū wayaj'ziyahum' 'aj'rahum bi'aḥ'sani -lladhī kānū yaʻ'malūna
So that Allah will turn off from them (even) the worst in their deeds and give them their reward according to the best of what they have done.

So that Allah may wipe away their worst deeds and pay them their wages by the measure of their finest work.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What if your report card only counted your best work?"
Watch the Happy Believers video Two Angels Write My Deeds.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah do with the worst deeds?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is Allah so generous with us?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Az-Zumar is surah 39. Find ayah 35. The key word yukaffira means He wipes away. Allah's generosity is amazing: for people who do good, He wipes away their worst deeds and rewards them by the standard of their finest deeds. This gives us huge hope and a reason to keep trying.
Fact: Which ayah in Surah Hud says good deeds wipe away bad deeds?
Ages 5–8: Wipe and shine. Write a mistake on a misty mirror, wipe it away, and draw a smiley face instead.
Ages 9–12: My finest. Write down your three finest deeds this month and how to do more.
Finish with: "I found that the ayah is Hud ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, after any mistake, I will follow it quickly with a good deed."
