Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What really makes someone better?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 76. The key word khayr means better. Iblis compared himself with Adam and decided he was superior because of his material. This was the first act of looking down on others. In Islam, no one is better because of colour, family, money or looks. Only taqwa, being mindful of Allah, raises a person.

Fact: Which ayah in Surah Al-Hujurat says the most honoured with Allah is the most mindful?

Ages 5–8: Same inside. Look at different coloured eggs, crack them, and see they are the same inside.

Ages 9–12: Real measure. Write what Allah looks at when He judges people.

Finish with: "I found that the ayah is Al-Hujurat ___."

• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why is looking down on others dangerous?
• What makes a person truly honoured with Allah?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?
