Start with bismillah.

Ask: "How does it feel when someone laughs at you?"

Watch the Growing Good Hearts video Do Not Make Fun of Others.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do the people of the Fire wonder about?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is mocking others so harmful?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 63. The key word sikhriyyan means something to laugh at. The proud people used to treat the believers as a joke. Now they realise how wrong they were. Mocking hurts people's hearts, and Allah forbids it. The person being laughed at may be better than the one laughing.

Fact: Which ayah in Surah Al-Hujurat tells believers not to mock one another?

Ages 5–8: Kind words jar. Every time someone says something kind this week, add a bead to a jar.

Ages 9–12: Stand up. Write what you could say if you saw someone being mocked.

Finish with: "I found that the ayah is Al-Hujurat ___."

Talk together:

• Why did the proud people regret mocking the believers?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• How does it feel to be laughed at?
• What can you do when you see someone being mocked?
• What would you like to ask about this ayah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will stop myself from laughing at anyone and say something kind instead."

• Replace mocking with kindness.
• Fill the kind words jar.
• Share how you would stand up.
• Next time: the next ayah (38:64) says their quarrel is real. Explore it together!

Action: Stop yourself from laughing at anyone and say something kind instead.
