This is a reminder, and those who are mindful of Allah will surely have a lovely place to return to.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Why do we tell stories about good people from long ago?"
Watch the Little Kids of Jannah video The Story of Prophet Ya'qub.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is promised to the mindful?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What can I learn from the prophets' stories?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 49. The key word ma'ab means a place of return. The stories of Dawud, Sulaiman, Ayyub, Ibrahim and the others are a reminder for us. Each one shows patience, turning back to Allah and trust. Yaqub, for example, waited many years for his son Yusuf with beautiful patience. People who live this way have a wonderful return.
Fact: Which surah tells the full story of Yaqub and his son Yusuf?
Ages 5–8: Story jar. Write the names of prophets on slips, pick one, and tell one thing you remember.
Ages 9–12: Lesson table. Make a table of prophets in Surah Sad and the lesson from each.
Finish with: "I found that the story is in Surah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will practise one lesson from a prophet's story."
Action: Practise one lesson from a prophet's story.
