Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 44. The key word sabiran means patient. During his illness Ayyub had made an oath. Allah showed him a gentle, easy way to keep it with a bundle of grass. Allah loves us to keep our word, and He makes things easy for those who try. Then Allah praises Ayyub: patient, excellent, always turning back.

Ages 5–8: Promise jar. Drop a button in a jar each time you keep your word this week.

Ages 9–12: Think first. Write three questions to ask yourself before making a promise.
