وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَٰنَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِۦ جَسَدًۭا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ
Wa laqad' fatannā sulay'māna wa'al'qay'nā ʻalā kur'siyyihī jassadan thumma 'anāba
And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion):

We certainly tested Sulaiman and put a body upon his seat of power; then he returned to Us.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can a king be tested too?"
Watch the IQRA Cartoon video Prophet Stories: Sulaiman.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Sulaiman do after the test?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Allah test good people?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 34. The key word fatanna means We tested. Even a great king and prophet was tested by Allah. The ayah says a body was placed on his throne; scholars explain this differently, and Allah knows best. What is clear is how Sulaiman responded: he turned straight back to Allah.

Ages 5–8: Test and turn. Act out falling down and getting back up, saying you will turn to Allah.
Ages 9–12: Tests list. Write three kinds of tests people face, like illness, wealth or loss.
