Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever refused to say sorry because you felt too proud?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which two things held the deniers back?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does pride stop people from seeing the truth?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 2. The key word izzah here means a false feeling of being too important. The second key word, shiqaq, means splitting away and opposing. The people of Makkah knew the Prophet was honest, but pride kept them from listening. A proud heart is like a closed door: nothing good can get in.
Fact: Which ayah later in Surah Sad shows Iblis claiming he is better than Adam?
Ages 5–8: Puffed balloon. Blow up a balloon, then let the air out slowly, and talk about letting pride go.
Ages 9–12: Pride or confidence? Write two sentences: one that shows healthy confidence and one that shows pride.
Finish with: "I found that the ayah is Sad ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will admit one mistake quickly instead of arguing."
Action: Admit one mistake quickly instead of arguing.
