And the birds too were gathered together, every one of them turning to Allah with him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Have you ever heard birds singing early in the morning?"
Watch the Little Meru video The Birds Say SubhanAllah.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the birds do with Dawud?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Do birds know about Allah?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Sad is surah 38. Find ayah 19. The key word mahshurah means gathered together. Birds came from all around and joined Dawud in praising Allah. Birds today still fill the dawn with song. The Quran tells us that every creature knows its own way of prayer and praise.
Fact: Which ayah in Surah An-Nur mentions birds with spread wings praising Allah?
Ages 5–8: Bird watch. Sit by a window or in a garden for five minutes and count the birds you see or hear.
Ages 9–12: Dawn chorus. Find out why birds sing most at dawn and write two reasons.
Finish with: "I found that the ayah is An-Nur ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will notice birds outside and thank Allah for them."
Action: Notice birds outside and thank Allah for them.
