Then he turned on them, striking with his right hand.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does it take to do something brave all alone?"
Watch the Islam for Kids video Prophet Ibrahim and the Fire, an Islamic 3D cartoon.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Ibrahim do to the idols?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did Ibrahim break the idols?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 93. The key word al-yamin means the right hand, showing strength. Ibrahim broke the idols to show his people they could not even protect themselves. This was a prophet's mission in his time. Today we show the truth with kind words, good manners and wisdom, never by damaging other people's things.
Fact: According to Surah Al-Anbiya, which idol did Ibrahim leave unbroken?
Ages 5–8: Brave and kind. Draw a picture of yourself saying something true in a brave, kind way.
Ages 9–12: Words of wisdom. Write how you would explain tawhid to a friend gently.
Finish with: "I found that he left the ___ one."

Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was a prophet guided by Allah to show his own people, in their own temple, that their statues had no power. We are not prophets; Allah tells us in 6:108 not to insult what other people worship, so we never touch or mock the religious objects of our neighbours. Our way is to show the truth by our good character and kind words.
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will share one true thing about Allah with someone kindly."
Action: Share one true thing about Allah with someone kindly.
