Opening the ayah…
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا طَٰغِينَ
Wa mā kāna lanā ʻalay'kum mmin sulṭānin . bal' kuntum' qaw'man ṭāghīna
"Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion!

4-I guide
We had no real power over you; you were people who went beyond the limits.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is 'they made me do it' a good excuse?"
Watch the Reading Robinsons video It's Not My Fault, a read-aloud about accountability.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do the leaders say about their power?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is blaming others not an excuse?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 30. The key word sultan means authority or power. The leaders admit they could not force anyone. People followed because they wanted to go beyond the limits. The lesson: nobody can force our hearts. We are responsible, and that also means we have the power to choose good.
Fact: What does the word taghin mean in Arabic?
Ages 5–8: Not my fault? Read a short story about someone blaming others and talk about what they should have said.
Ages 9–12: Power to choose. Write three situations where you have the power to choose good.
Finish with: "I found that taghin means ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will admit one mistake without making an excuse."
Action: Admit one mistake without making an excuse.
