Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What happened when the lots were drawn?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they draw lots?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 141. The key word saham means drawing lots. The ship was overloaded in a storm, and the sailors drew lots to decide who would leave the ship. Yunus's name came out. Nothing happens by chance with Allah; this was part of Allah's plan to teach and then rescue Yunus.
Fact: What is a ship's maximum safe load called?
Ages 5–8: Boat balance. Load toy boats in water and see what happens when one is too heavy.
Ages 9–12: Allah's plan. Write about something that seemed bad at first but led to good.
Finish with: "I found that it is called the ___."

Talk together:
