4-I guide
Allah, who is your Lord and was Lord of your earliest forefathers.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who looked after your great-great-grandparents?"
Watch the Tales By Rahman video Prophet Ilyas and the Idol Ba'al.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whose Lord is Allah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Was Allah also the Lord of the very first people?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah As-Saffat is surah 37. Find ayah 126. The key word rabb means Lord, the One who creates, cares for and nurtures. Allah has been the Lord of every generation, from Adam until today. Ilyas reminded his people that their idol was new, but Allah had always cared for them and their ancestors.
Fact: What does the Arabic word Rabb mean?
Ages 5–8: Care chain. Draw a chain of people from your grandparents to you, all cared for by Allah.
Ages 9–12: Nurture notes. List five ways Allah nurtures and cares for you every day.
Finish with: "I found that Rabb means ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a for my family, past and present."
Action: Make du'a for your family, past and present.
