4-I guide
The Quran is sent down from Allah, who is Almighty and full of mercy.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can someone be very strong and very kind at the same time?"
Watch the Daan Quranic Academy video The Story of the Revelation of the Quran for Children.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which two names of Allah do you hear?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the Quran come with mercy?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ya-Sin is surah 36. Find ayah 5. The key word tanzil means sending down bit by bit. Two names of Allah are joined here: Al-Aziz, the Almighty, and Ar-Rahim, the Most Merciful. His might means nobody can stop His message, and His mercy means the message is sent to help us, not to harm us.
Fact: Over about how many years was the Quran sent down?
Ages 5–8: Strong and gentle. Show a strong pose, then a gentle pose, and talk about how Allah is both mighty and merciful.
Ages 9–12: Name pairs. Find three other ayat where Al-Aziz and Ar-Rahim, or similar names, come together.
Finish with: "I found that it came down over ___ years."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be strong in doing right and gentle with people."
Action: Be strong in doing right and gentle with people.
