Find it in the mushaf: Surah Saba is surah 34. Find ayah 45. The key word mi'shar means a tenth. The people of Makkah had not even a tenth of the wealth and power of earlier nations like 'Ad and Thamud. Yet those mighty nations were brought down when they rejected their messengers. Power is no protection without gratitude and faith.

Fact: Which ancient nation in the Quran was known for very tall buildings and great strength?

Ages 5–8: Tower and tenth. Build a tall block tower, then a tower one tenth as tall, and compare.

Ages 9–12: Tenths. Find what one tenth is of five numbers, such as your height and your town's population.

Finish with: "I found that the nation was ___."

Talk together:
