Opening the ayah…
Qul' yaj'maʻu bay'nanā rabbunā thumma yaf'taḥu bay'nanā bil-ḥaqqi wahuwa l-fattāḥu l-ʻalīmu
Say: "Our Lord will gather us together and will in the end decide the matter between us (and you) in truth and justice: and He is the one to decide, the One Who knows all."
Translation: Abdullah Yusuf Ali

No reflections for this ayah yet. Be the first, by reflecting with the 4-I journey below!
4-I guide
Allah will gather everyone and judge between them with truth, for He is the All-Knowing Judge.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes a good referee?"
Watch the Huda TV video Allah, Al-Fattah, Is the Judge Between Us.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will Allah do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What does Al-Fattah mean?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Saba is surah 34. Find ayah 26. The key word al-fattah means the Judge, the One who opens. He opens the truth in every dispute and opens doors of mercy. He also knows everything, so His judgement is completely fair. Disagreements in this life will be settled by Him.
Fact: What is the opening surah of the Quran called, from the same root as Al-Fattah?
Ages 5–8: Fair referee. Play a game where a referee must be fair to both sides.
Ages 9–12: Two meanings. Write two meanings of Al-Fattah with an example of each.
Finish with: "I found that the opening surah is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be a fair referee when my siblings or friends argue."
Action: Be a fair referee when your siblings or friends argue.
