أَمْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سُلْطَٰنًۭا فَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يُشْرِكُونَ
'Am' 'anzalnā ʻalay'him' sulṭānan fahuwa yatakallamu bimā kānū bihī yush'rikūna
Or have We sent down authority to them, which points out to them the things to which they pay part-worship?

Allah asks whether He ever sent any proof supporting the partners people set up with Him.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you need before you believe a surprising claim?"
Watch the Nouman Ali Khan video Surah Al-Room: Gems from Taraweeh.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What does Allah ask for?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Islam value proof?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ar-Rum is surah 30. Find ayah 35. The key word sultan here means clear proof or authority. Allah challenges those who worship others: show the proof. Islam asks people to think, not to believe blindly. Believers have clear signs: the Quran, the universe and the messengers.
Fact: Which ayah in Surah Al-Baqarah says to bring your proof if you are truthful?
Ages 5–8: Evidence hunt. Find three clues around the house that show someone baked or cooked today.
Ages 9–12: Claim check. Write a claim, then list the evidence needed to believe it.
Finish with: "I found that it is ayah ___ of Al-Baqarah."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will check the evidence before believing a rumour."
Action: Check the evidence before believing a rumour.
