كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَٰسِقُونَ
How to read it
Kuntum' khay'ra 'ummatin 'ukh'rijat' li nnāssi ta''murūna bil-maʻ'rūfi watan'haw'na ʻani l-munkari watu''minūna bi-llahi . walaw' 'āmana 'ah'lu l-kitābi lakāna khay'ran llahum . mmin'humu l-mu''minūna wa'ak'tharuhumu l-fāssiqūna
Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. If only the People of the Book had faith, it were best for them: among them are some who have faith, but most of them are perverted transgressors.
