Surah Ali 'Imran begins with three letters, Alif Lam Mim, whose full meaning Allah knows.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Which other surah do you know that starts with Alif Lam Mim?"
Play the short clip from MZG of Mishary Alafasy reciting ayat 1–9 of Ali 'Imran.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which letters open this surah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why do some surahs begin with letters alone?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ali 'Imran is surah 3. Find ayah 1. Ali 'Imran means 'the Family of 'Imran', the family of Maryam. It is the third surah and tells of Maryam, Zakariyya, Yahya and 'Isa, and of the battles of Badr and Uhud.
Fact: Six surahs begin with Alif Lam Mim, including Al-Baqarah and Ali 'Imran.
Ages 5–8: Letter hunt. Find Alif, Lam and Mim at the start of the surah.
Ages 9–12: Family tree. Draw the family of 'Imran: Maryam and 'Isa.
Finish with: "Ali 'Imran means the ___ of 'Imran."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will learn the name of every person in this family."
Action: Learn the name of every person in this family.
