وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُۥ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ ٱلْحَقِّ وَظَنُّوٓا۟ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا يُرْجَعُونَ
Wa -s'tak'bara huwa wajunūduhu fī l-'ar'ḍi bighay'ri l-ḥaqqi waẓannū 'annahum' 'ilay'nā lā yur'jaʻūna
And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason,- He and his hosts: they thought that they would not have to return to Us!

Pharaoh and his armies acted proudly in the land with no right, imagining they would never be brought back to Allah.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What happens when people forget they will meet Allah?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did Pharaoh think about returning to Allah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does remembering the Hereafter keep us humble?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Qasas is surah 28. Find ayah 39. The key word istakbara means he acted arrogantly. Pharaoh's pride came from forgetting he would return to Allah. When people think no one will hold them responsible, they become unjust. Remembering the meeting with Allah keeps hearts humble.
Fact: Which surah's ayah 37 says not to walk on the earth arrogantly?
Ages 5–8: Humble walk. Practise walking gently and greeting people kindly.
Ages 9–12: Pride and humility. Make a two-column chart of proud and humble actions.
