لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَٰذَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Laqad' wuʻid'nā hādhā naḥ'nu wa'ābā'unā min qab'lu 'in' hādhā 'illā 'assāṭīru l-'awwalīna
"It is true we were promised this,- we and our fathers before (us): these are nothing but tales of the ancients."

They said they and their fathers had heard this promise before and it was nothing but old legends.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is something false just because it is old?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did they call the promise?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they call it old tales?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Naml is surah 27. Find ayah 68. The key word asatir means old stories, legends. They dismissed the truth because they had heard it before. But a promise from Allah is not made weaker by time. Truth stays true no matter how old.
Fact: Which surah repeats, in its ayah 5, the same claim that the Quran is old legends?
Ages 5–8: Old and true. Find something old at home that is still useful.
Ages 9–12: Old truths. Write why old does not mean untrue.
Finish with: "I found it is Surah ___."
Talk together:
