Wa kāna fī l-madīnati tis'ʻatu rah'ṭin yuf'sidūna fī l-'ar'ḍi walā yuṣ'liḥūna
There were in the city nine men of a family, who made mischief in the land, and would not reform.

Nine men in the city spread harm across the land and never put things right.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How can a small group cause a lot of trouble?"

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "How many troublemakers were there?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why did they refuse to change?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Naml is surah 27. Find ayah 48. The key word raht means a small band of people. Just nine men caused trouble for a whole city. They spread harm and never fixed anything. A few bad people can do great damage, and a few good people can do great good.
Fact: What is the Arabic word for the number nine?
Ages 5–8: Fixers and breakers. Act out fixing a toy and breaking a toy, and talk about which is better.
Ages 9–12: Small group, big effect. Write how a small group of friends can make a big difference for good.
Finish with: "I found nine in Arabic is ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will join with friends to do one good thing."
Action: Join with friends to do one good thing.
