Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes a true friend?"
Keep this one short. Sit quietly and hear Abu Bakr Al-Shatri from the Daily Deen - Quran Recitations channel.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What else will they lack?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why will friends be missing?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Ash-Shu'ara is surah 26. Find ayah 101. The key word hamim means a close, warm friend. Friends built on wrongdoing will be gone. Friendships built on faith last into the Hereafter. Choose friends who help you towards Allah.
Fact: Which ayah of Al-Ma'arij says no close friend will ask about another on that Day?
Ages 5–8: Friendship tree. Draw a tree with your good friends as leaves.
Ages 9–12: Lasting friends. Write what makes a friendship last forever.
Finish with: "I found it is ayah ___ of Al-Ma'arij."
