وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍۢ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Wa -lladhīna yaqūlūna rabbanā hab' lanā min' 'az'wājinā wadhurriyyātinā qurrata 'aʻ'yunin wa-j'ʻalnā lil'muttaqīna 'imāman
And those who pray, "Our Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous."

They pray, 'Our Lord, give us families who bring comfort to our eyes and make us examples for those who are mindful of You.'
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What makes your family a joy to be with?"
FreeQuranEducation's illustrated tafsir explains 'coolness of the eyes' from ayah 74.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do they ask for their families?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I be a joy to my parents' eyes?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Furqan is surah 25. Find ayah 74. The key words qurrata a'yun mean comfort or coolness of the eyes. A good family brings peace. They also ask to be good examples for others.
Fact: Which ayah of Ibrahim has Ibrahim praying for himself and his children to keep up prayer?
Ages 5–8: Joy to the eyes. Do something that makes your parents smile.
Ages 9–12: Learn the dua. Write the meaning of this dua and when to say it.
