وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱلْكَافِرُ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ ظَهِيرًۭا
Wa yaʻ'budūna min dūni -llahi mā lā yanfaʻuhum' walā yaḍurruhum' . wakāna l-kāfiru ʻalā rabbihī ẓahīran
Yet do they worship, besides Allah, things that can neither profit them nor harm them: and the Misbeliever is a helper (of Evil), against his own Lord!

People still worship things that can neither help nor hurt them, and the disbeliever ends up supporting others against his own Lord.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Would you take sides against someone who gave you everything?"
Try a few minutes of Saad Al-Ghamdi, posted by LIVEQURAN.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What can the false gods do for them?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why turn away from the One who made us?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Furqan is surah 25. Find ayah 55. The key word zahiran means a backer or supporter. After all the signs of water, shade and rain, people still turn to the powerless. That is like siding against the One who gave them everything.
Fact: Which ayah of Al-Furqan near the start also says false gods control no harm or benefit?
Ages 5–8: Help or not. Sort pictures into things that can help you and things that cannot.
Ages 9–12: Taking sides. Write why turning from Allah is like siding against your own benefactor.
Finish with: "I found it is ayah ___ of Al-Furqan."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for three blessings out loud."
Action: Thank Allah for three blessings out loud.
