Start with bismillah.

Ask: "What is a lifebuoy for?"

Ar-Rahmaan Quran Channel shows Abdul Basit's An-Nur with English. A few minutes is plenty.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "In which two worlds does Allah's grace reach us?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How is Allah's mercy like a lifebuoy?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nur is surah 24. Find ayah 14. The mercy line comes back. People rushed into talking about the lie, and Allah could have punished them, but His grace held it back. His mercy reaches us in this life and in the next.

Fact: Find the other ayat in An-Nur that repeat this mercy line. How many are there?

Ages 5–8: Lifebuoy. Draw a lifebuoy ring and write 'mercy' on it.

Ages 9–12: Two worlds. Write one way Allah's mercy helps us now and one way we hope for it later.

Finish with: "I found the mercy line in ayat ___."

Talk together:

• Why did people rush into the story?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What does it feel like to be saved?
• How do you thank Allah for second chances?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will say alhamdulillah for one second chance ___ (when)."

• Show the lifebuoy drawing.
• Explain the two worlds to someone.
• Next time: the next ayah (24:15) shows how the lie passed from tongue to tongue. Explore it together!
