Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does it feel like when it's too late to explain?"

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Mu'minun is surah 23. Find ayah 108. One calm line: their pleading is refused. Allah tells us now, while His door is wide open, so we never reach that point.
Fact: Which name of Allah means the One who accepts repentance? (At-Tawwab.).
Ages 5–8: Open door. Draw an open door with 'come back to Allah'.
Ages 9–12: Mercy now. Write why Allah tells us warnings in advance.
Finish with: "I found At-Tawwab means ___."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will remember the door of mercy is open."
Action: Remember the door of mercy is open.
