أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَالِهَةٌۭ تَمْنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ
'Am' lahum' 'ālihatun tam'naʻuhum mmin dūninā . lā yas'taṭīʻūna naṣ'ra 'anfussihim' walā hum mminnā yuṣ'ḥabūna
Or have they gods that can guard them from Us? They have no power to aid themselves, nor can they be defended from Us.

They have no gods who could defend them, for those gods cannot even help themselves.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can something that can't help itself help you?"
Raad Mohammad al Kurdi shares Raad Muhammad Al-Kurdi's recitation of Al-Anbiya. Listen to a short stretch.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What can their gods not do?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why rely only on Allah?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Anbiya is surah 21. Find ayah 43. False gods can't even protect themselves. Only Allah can protect and help.
Fact: Find the ayah where Ibrahim asks why worship what can't hear or see (Maryam 19:42).
Ages 5–8: Helper hunt. List who can help you and remember Allah helps them all.
Ages 9–12: Only Allah. Write why relying on Allah is wise.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make du'a before asking others for help."
Action: Make du'a before asking others for help.
