يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Yukhādiʻūna -llaha wa-lladhīna 'āmanū wamā yakh'daʻūna 'illā 'anfussahum' wamā yash'ʻurūna
Fain would they deceive Allah and those who believe, but they only deceive themselves, and realise (it) not!

They try to trick Allah and the believers, but they only trick themselves without realising it.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can anyone trick Allah?"
Settle down and play the start of a reciter's Al-Baqarah (Tadabbur FHD).
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Whom do they really trick?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does lying hurt the liar most?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 9. No one can trick Allah, who knows everything. People who lie end up hurting themselves, losing trust and peace.
Fact: The Prophet said truthfulness leads to goodness, and lying leads to wrongdoing (Bukhari).
Ages 5–8: Truth path. Talk about how lies grow and truth stays simple.
Ages 9–12: Self-harm. Write how lying hurts the liar.
Finish with: "Liars only trick ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will tell the truth even when it's hard."
Action: Tell the truth even when it's hard.
