Start with bismillah.

Ask: "How firmly do you hold a precious gift?"

Put on Mishary Alafasy's Al-Baqarah from QURAN HIFZ and follow along for a little while.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were they told to hold firmly?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why remember what is in the Book?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 63. Holding the Book firmly means learning it and living by it. Remembering it keeps us mindful.

Fact: Mount Tur, also called Sinai, is where Musa spoke with Allah.

Ages 5–8: Grip. Hold a book firmly and talk about holding the Qur'an.

Ages 9–12: Hold firm. Write two ways to hold firmly to the Qur'an.

Finish with: "Hold ___ to what We gave you."

Talk together:

• What were they told?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why remember?
• How will you hold firmly?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will revise one surah I know."

• Hold firmly.
• Remember.
• Be mindful.
• Next time: the next ayah (2:64) says they turned away. Explore it together!

Action: Revise one surah you know.
