Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Can we lend something to Allah?"

Begin a reciter's Al-Baqarah on Learn Quran Seekhain and listen for a few minutes.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will Allah do with the loan?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why call charity a 'loan' to Allah?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 245. Charity is called a loan to Allah because He repays it many times over. Abu ad-Dahdah gave a garden of 600 palm trees after hearing this ayah.

Ages 5–8: Loan to Allah. Give a coin to charity and call it a loan to Allah.

Ages 9–12: Multiplied. Write why charity is never a loss.

Finish with: "Charity is a ___ to Allah."

Talk together:

• What is the loan?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• What does Allah do?
• What will you lend Allah?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will give a little charity every day."

• Lend to Allah.
• He multiplies.
• Never a loss.
