وَلِلْمُطَلَّقَٰتِ مَتَٰعٌۢ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ ۖ حَقًّا عَلَى ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
Wa lil'muṭallaqāti matāʻun[m] bil-maʻ'rūfi . ḥaqqan ʻalāl-muttaqīna
For divorced women Maintenance (should be provided) on a reasonable (scale). This is a duty on the righteous.

Divorced women should be given fair provision, a duty on those who are mindful of Allah.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Should people be cared for even after a family changes?"
A short clip on Ummah Muslim recites ayah 241 of Al-Baqarah. Play the whole clip.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who has this duty?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is fairness still owed?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 241. Even after separation, fairness and care continue. The mindful don't abandon responsibilities.
Fact: Haqqan 'alal-muttaqin means a duty on the mindful.
Ages 5–8: Keep caring. Talk about caring even after a falling out.
Ages 9–12: Fair always. Write why fairness continues.
Finish with: "It is a duty on the ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will be fair to someone I've fallen out with."
Action: Be fair to someone you've fallen out with.
