وَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ حَيْثُ ثَقِفْتُمُوهُمْ وَأَخْرِجُوهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ ۚ وَٱلْفِتْنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ ٱلْقَتْلِ ۚ وَلَا تُقَٰتِلُوهُمْ عِندَ ٱلْمَسْجِدِ ٱلْحَرَامِ حَتَّىٰ يُقَٰتِلُوكُمْ فِيهِ ۖ فَإِن قَٰتَلُوكُمْ فَٱقْتُلُوهُمْ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ
How to read it
Wa -q'tulūhum' ḥay'thu thaqif'tumūhum' wa'akh'rijūhum mmin' ḥay'thu 'akh'rajūkum' . wal-fit'natu 'ashaddu mina l-qat'li . walā tuqātilūhum' ʻinda l-mas'jidi l-ḥarāmi ḥattā yuqātilūkum' fīhi . fa'in qātalūkum' fa-q'tulūhum' . kadhālika jazā'u l-kāfirīna
And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have Turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
