وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ
Wa 'idhā qīla lahum' lā tuf'sidū fī l-'ar'ḍi qālū 'innamā naḥ'nu muṣ'liḥūna
When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!"

When told not to spread trouble on earth, they say they are only putting things right.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can people do wrong while thinking they're doing right?"
A short clip on Al Rehman Quran Online Academy recites ayah 11 of Al-Baqarah. Play the whole clip.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do they claim to be?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is it important to check our actions?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Baqarah is surah 2. Find ayah 11. Some cause harm but call it good. We should check our actions honestly and listen when someone kindly points out a mistake.
Fact: Islah means putting things right, and fasad means spreading harm.
Ages 5–8: Fixers. Fix something that is broken at home.
Ages 9–12: Honest check. Write how to check if an action is really good.
Finish with: "Islah means putting things ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will accept advice without arguing."
Action: Accept advice without arguing.
