حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَطْلِعَ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَطْلُعُ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ لَّمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُم مِّن دُونِهَا سِتْرًۭا
Ḥattā 'idhā balagha maṭ'liʻa shsham'si wajadahā taṭ'luʻu ʻalā qaw'min llam' naj'ʻal llahum mmin dūnihā sit'ran
Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun.

When he reached the far east, he found the sun rising over a people who had no shelter from it.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What would life be like with no shade from the sun?"
For a few quiet minutes, listen to Abdul Basit Abdus-Samad reciting Al-Kahf, shared by القرآن الكريم سماع وقراءة.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did these people lack?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How do people live in very sunny places?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 90. A sign to ponder: in some lands, the sun is very strong and there are few trees or hills for shade. People and animals adapt in amazing ways.
Fact: How do desert animals stay cool? Find two ways.
Ages 5–8: Shade test. Feel the difference between sun and shade outside.
Ages 9–12: Adapting. Write how people adapt to strong sun.
Finish with: "I found they ___ and ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah for shade and shelter."
Action: Thank Allah for shade and shelter.
Don't look directly at the sun.
