Start with bismillah.

Ask: "Would you be friends with someone who wants to harm you?"

For a few quiet minutes, listen to Ali Jaber reciting Al-Kahf, shared by Thamer Abanumay.

Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What kind of being was Iblis?"

Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why would anyone follow Shaytan?" Younger children can draw theirs.

Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 50. Iblis was from the jinn. He disobeyed Allah out of pride. He is our enemy, so we never take him as a guide. Ask your ustaz or ustazah to learn more about the jinn.

Fact: Find the ayah that says jinn were created from fire (Ar-Rahman 55:15).

Ages 5–8: Shield. Learn a'udhu billah and say it together.

Ages 9–12: Enemy. Write how Shaytan tries to trick people.

Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."

Talk together:

• Who was Iblis?
• Which name of Allah does this remind you of?
• Why is he our enemy?
• How do you stay protected?

Make a small plan: "This week, I will say a'udhu billah when I feel a bad urge."
