ٱلَّذِينَ كَانَتْ أَعْيُنُهُمْ فِى غِطَآءٍ عَن ذِكْرِى وَكَانُوا۟ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَمْعًا
Alladhīna kānat' 'aʻ'yunuhum' fī ghiṭā'in ʻan dhik'rī wakānū lā yas'taṭīʻūna sam'ʻan
(Unbelievers) whose eyes had been under a veil from remembrance of Me, and who had been unable even to hear.

Those whose eyes were covered from remembering Allah and who couldn't bear to listen.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Can someone have eyes but not see?"
AbooAbdillah has a short Al-Kahf clip of Abdur-Rahman As-Sudais reciting ayat 99–110. Play it all.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were their eyes covered from?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I keep my eyes open to Allah's signs?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 101. Some people see but don't notice Allah's signs; they hear but don't listen. We keep our eyes and ears open by remembering Allah.
Fact: Find the ayah about hearts that don't understand and eyes that don't see (Al-A'raf 7:179).
Ages 5–8: Open eyes. Go outside and find five signs of Allah.
Ages 9–12: Seeing truly. Write how to really see and hear.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will notice one sign of Allah each day."
Action: Notice one sign of Allah each day.
