ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عِوَجَا ۜ
Al-ḥam'du lillahi -lladhī 'anzala ʻalā ʻab'dihi l-kitāba walam' yaj'ʻal llahu ʻiwajā .
Praise be to Allah, Who hath sent to His Servant the Book, and hath allowed therein no Crookedness:

All praise is for Allah, who sent the Book down to His servant and put nothing crooked in it.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What does it mean for something to be completely straight?"
Play the short clip from Maman Yusoff of Mishary Alafasy reciting ayat 1–10 of Al-Kahf.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Who was the Book sent to?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does Al-Kahf begin with alhamdulillah?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Kahf is surah 18. Find ayah 1. Al-Kahf begins by praising Allah for the Quran. It has no crookedness: nothing confusing, wrong or misleading. Many Muslims read this surah on Fridays.
Fact: Which four other surahs begin with 'alhamdulillah'?
Ask your teacher (Al-Fatihah, Al-An'am, Saba, Fatir).
Ages 5–8: Straight or bent. Find something straight and something bent at home.
Ages 9–12: Surah map. Skim the translation and list the four big stories in Al-Kahf.
Finish with: "I found the four stories are ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will read part of Al-Kahf on Friday."
Action: Read part of Al-Kahf on Friday.
