وَلَا تَجْعَلْ يَدَكَ مَغْلُولَةً إِلَىٰ عُنُقِكَ وَلَا تَبْسُطْهَا كُلَّ ٱلْبَسْطِ فَتَقْعُدَ مَلُومًۭا مَّحْسُورًا
Wa lā taj'ʻal' yadaka magh'lūlatan 'ilā ʻunuqika walā tab'suṭ'hā kulla l-bas'ṭi fataq'ʻuda malūman mmaḥ'sūran
Make not thy hand tied (like a niggard's) to thy neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach, so that thou become blameworthy and destitute.

Don't be stingy, keeping your hand tied, and don't give everything away either, or you'll end up blamed and empty-handed.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is it possible to give too much?"
A channel called Gi Thought has ayat 23–39 with translation. Play the part about spending wisely.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What two extremes does the ayah warn about?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What does balanced spending look like?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Isra is surah 17. Find ayah 29. Islam teaches balance. Don't be stingy, and don't spend everything. Wise spending helps us and others.
Fact: Find the ayah praising those who spend neither wastefully nor stingily (Al-Furqan 25:67).
Ages 5–8: Balance. Try balancing objects on a ruler.
Ages 9–12: Budget. Make a simple plan: save, spend, give.
Finish with: "I found it in Surah ___, ayah ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will split my money into save, spend and give."
Action: Split your money into save, spend and give.
