وَءَاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَلَا تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا
Wa 'āti dhā l-qur'bā ḥaqqahu wal-mis'kīna wa-b'na ssabīli walā tubadhdhir' tab'dhīran
And render to the kindred their due rights, as (also) to those in want, and to the wayfarer: But squander not (your wealth) in the manner of a spendthrift.

Give relatives what they are owed, and the poor and the traveller too, but never waste.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Who in your family needs help sometimes?"
Sabir R. has a short Al-Isra clip of Yousef Al-Aidarous reciting ayat 23–39. Play it all.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "Which three groups are mentioned?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why does the ayah also say don't waste?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Isra is surah 17. Find ayah 26. Islam teaches us to help family, people in need and travellers. It also teaches not to waste. Sharing and not wasting go together.
Fact: How much food is wasted at home in a week? Make an estimate with your family.
Ages 5–8: Share and save. Share something and turn off one tap or light.
Ages 9–12: Waste. Write a plan to waste less at home.
Finish with: "I estimate ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will share something and waste less."
