Fa'idhā qara''ta l-qur''āna fa-s'taʻidh' bi-llahi mina shshay'ṭāni rrajīmi
When thou dost read the Qur'an, seek Allah's protection from Satan the rejected one.

When you recite the Quran, seek Allah's protection from the rejected Shaytan.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What do you say before reading the Quran?"
Play the short An-Nahl clip of ayat 97–100 from Gi Thought.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What should we say before reciting?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why seek protection before reading?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nahl is surah 16. Find ayah 98. Before reading the Quran, we say 'a'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim'. It protects our hearts so we focus on Allah's words.
Fact: Learn the full isti'adhah: a'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim.
Ages 5–8: Shield words. Say a'udhu billah before reading Quran today.
Ages 9–12: Focus. Write how seeking refuge helps you focus on the Quran.
Finish with: "A'udhu billah means ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will always say a'udhu billah before reciting."
Action: Always say a'udhu billah before reciting.
