ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ ٱلضُّرَّ عَنكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌۭ مِّنكُم بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ
Thumma 'idhā kashafa ḍḍurra ʻankum' 'idhā farīqun mminkum birabbihim' yush'rikūna
Yet, when He removes the distress from you, behold! some of you turn to other gods to join with their Lord-

Then when Allah removes the hardship, some of you begin to set up partners with your Lord.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "Is it fair to forget someone who helped you?"
Hear the opening minutes of An-Nahl in Ahmed Al-Ajmi's voice, from Al-Quran Our Light.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What do some people do after help comes?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How can I stay thankful after help comes?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nahl is surah 16. Find ayah 54. Some people call on Allah in trouble, then forget Him once the trouble is gone. A believer stays thankful after help comes.
Fact: Luqman 31:32 describes people at sea doing this. Read it.
Ages 5–8: Thank you note. Write a thank-you to Allah for help you received.
Ages 9–12: Staying thankful. Write how to remember Allah after a problem is solved.
Finish with: "Luqman 31:32 says ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will thank Allah after a problem is solved."
Action: Thank Allah after a problem is solved.
