وَإِنْ عَاقَبْتُمْ فَعَاقِبُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَا عُوقِبْتُم بِهِۦ ۖ وَلَئِن صَبَرْتُمْ لَهُوَ خَيْرٌۭ لِّلصَّٰبِرِينَ
Wa 'in' ʻāqab'tum' faʻāqibū bimith'li mā ʻūqib'tum bihī . wala'in ṣabar'tum' lahuwa khay'run lli ṣṣābirīna
And if ye do catch them out, catch them out no worse than they catch you out: But if ye show patience, that is indeed the best (course) for those who are patient.

If you respond to harm, respond only to the same degree, but if you are patient, that is better for those who are patient.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "What should you do when someone hurts you?"
Play the short clip from Keys To Knowledge of Maher Al-Muaiqly reciting ayat 120–128 of An-Nahl.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What is better than responding?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why is patience better than getting even?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah An-Nahl is surah 16. Find ayah 126. Islam allows a fair response but says patience is better. Forgiving and being patient often brings more good than getting even.
Fact: Look up Ash-Shura 42:40: whoever forgives, their reward is with Allah.
Ages 5–8: Patience test. Practise staying calm when someone annoys you.
Ages 9–12: Fair or patient. Write why patience is better than getting even.
Finish with: "Ash-Shura 42:40 says ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will choose patience instead of getting even."
Action: Choose patience instead of getting even.
