قَالُوا۟ تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُم مَّا جِئْنَا لِنُفْسِدَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا كُنَّا سَٰرِقِينَ
Qālū ta-llahi laqad' ʻalim'tum mmā ji''nā linuf'sida fī l-'ar'ḍi wamā kunnā sāriqīna
(The brothers) said: "By Allah! well ye know that we came not to make mischief in the land, and we are no thieves!"

They swore by Allah that the Egyptians knew they had not come to cause trouble in the land and were not thieves.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How does it feel to be accused of something you didn't do?"
Settle down and play the start of Raad Al-Kurdi's Yusuf (Al-Quran Our Light).
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the brothers swear?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How had the brothers changed since they were young?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Yusuf is surah 12. Find ayah 73. This time the brothers really were innocent. They said, 'We are not thieves.' Perhaps they now understood how Yusuf felt when he was blamed unfairly.
Fact: Al-Ma'idah 5:8 says be just even with people you dislike. Read it.
Ages 5–8: Feelings swap. Talk about how it feels to be blamed unfairly.
Ages 9–12: Changing. Write how the brothers might have changed over the years.
Finish with: "Al-Ma'idah 5:8 says ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will not blame anyone without proof."
Action: Not blame anyone without proof.
