وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِى ٱشْتَرَىٰهُ مِن مِّصْرَ لِٱمْرَأَتِهِۦٓ أَكْرِمِى مَثْوَىٰهُ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَنفَعَنَآ أَوْ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدًۭا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهُۥ مِن تَأْوِيلِ ٱلْأَحَادِيثِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَالِبٌ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرِهِۦ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
How to read it
Wa qāla -lladhī (i)sh'tarāhu min mmiṣ'ra li-m'ra'atihī 'ak'rimī math'wāhu ʻassā 'an yanfaʻanā 'aw' nattakhidhahu waladan . wakadhālika makkannā liyūssufa fī l-'ar'ḍi walinuʻallimahu min ta''wīli l-'aḥādīthi . wa-llahu ghālibun ʻalā 'am'rihī walākinna 'ak'thara nnāssi lā yaʻ'lamūna
The man in Egypt who bought him, said to his wife: "Make his stay (among us) honourable: may be he will bring us much good, or we shall adopt him as a son." Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that We might teach him the interpretation of stories (and events). And Allah hath full power and control over His affairs; but most among mankind know it not.
