قَالُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَا مَا لَكَ لَا تَأْمَ۫نَّا عَلَىٰ يُوسُفَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَنَٰصِحُونَ
Qālū yā'abānā mā laka lā ta''ma.nnā ʻalā yūssufa wa'innā lahu lanāṣiḥūna
They said: "O our father! why dost thou not trust us with Joseph,- seeing we are indeed his sincere well-wishers?

They asked their father why he did not trust them with Yusuf, claiming they truly wished him well.
Start with bismillah.
Ask: "How do you earn someone's trust?"
Play the short Yusuf clip of ayat 11–20 from Quran Read and Listening.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What did the brothers ask their father?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "Why didn't Ya'qub fully trust them?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Yusuf is surah 12. Find ayah 11. The brothers pretended to care for Yusuf. Their father sensed something. Trust is built by honest actions over time, not just by words.
Fact: Al-Ahzab 33:70 tells believers to speak straight, truthful words. Read it.
Ages 5–8: Trust builder. List three things that make someone trustworthy.
Ages 9–12: Words and actions. Write why actions matter more than promises.
Finish with: "Al-Ahzab 33:70 tells us to ___."
Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will do what I say I will do."
Action: Do what you say you will do.
