4-I guide
This ayah tells us that the birds struck the army with stones of baked clay.
Start with bismillah.
Hold a piece of soft clay or playdough and a brick or a clay pot. Ask: "These are both made of clay. Why is one soft and one hard?"
Watch the first few minutes of the V&A museum video about objects made of clay that have lasted hundreds of years.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What were the stones made of?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "How does fire change clay?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah Al-Fil is surah 105. Find ayah 4. Which two words in the translation tell us how the stones were made?
Fact: What happens to clay when it is baked in a very hot kiln?
Ages 5–8: Make two small clay balls. Leave one to dry in the air for a few days and keep the other wet. Gently squeeze both. What is different?
Ages 9–12: If you have oven-bake clay, make two small tiles. Bake one (with an adult) and leave one unbaked. Test which one is harder and which one breaks more easily.
Finish with: "I found that baked clay is ___ than wet clay."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "This week, I will make something with clay or playdough and remember ___."
Action: Do your plan daily, and notice how it feels.

Only an adult uses the oven. Wash hands after handling clay.
