4-I guide
The last ayah of Surah At-Takathur tells us we will be asked about the good things we enjoyed.
Start with bismillah.
Give everyone one strawberry, date or piece of fruit. Eat it slowly. Ask: "What did you taste? Who gave you that taste?"
Watch the short National Geographic video about how we taste our food.
Now listen to the ayah together in the app, with the translation. Ask: "What will we be asked about, according to this ayah?"
Each child keeps one wonder question, for example: "What would I say if I was asked about my blessings?" Younger children can draw theirs.
Find it in the mushaf: Surah At-Takathur is surah 102. Find ayah 8, the last one. Read all eight ayat in the translation. How does the surah begin, and how does it end?
Fact: How many taste buds does a person have?
Ages 5–8: Taste test. With your eyes closed, taste something sweet, sour and salty. Can you name each one?
Ages 9–12: Blessings audit. For one day, write down every good thing you enjoy (food, water, a warm bed, a friend's smile). Next to each, write one way to say thank you.
Finish with: "I found that I enjoyed ___ blessings in one day."

Talk together:
Make a small plan: "At every meal this week, I will thank Allah for ___ and share ___."
Action: Try your plan out each day this week.

Check for food allergies before any tasting.
